    What buyers are saying
My 5-1/2 year-old grandson, who has built at least ten Lego kits of 350-piece complexity, most of them entirely solo, did most of the building of this Meccano 4x4 Truck kit. As he finds with Legos, the smallest parts challenge his motor skills. He sometimes obtained help in joining screws and nuts in this kit. The package was short about ten screws and one metal part. We made the metal part and bought 6-32 screws at the local hardware store to fill the shortages. A tri-flat shaft was too short for good engagement in one of the drive joints. We're in the process of getting a longer shaft that we can cut to correct length. The instructions are good, for people accustomed to Legos or to technical drawings, but very good illumination is useful to make details easy to see. This was successful, and I'm impressed at our grandson's tenacity. I would recommend this kit for older children, perhaps 9 or 10, with the caution that some parts might be missing, and fit adjustment might be necessary.
